Reflections (Page 2)
What you think is good for yourself is also good for others; what you want to do for yourself you should do for others also. If there is a conflict between your duty to yourself and your duty to society, that means you have become involved in self-deception. You want comforts and pleasures for yourself and all the good things for your children, and you want to live in a very neat and beautiful place. To want the same for others and help them to get these is your duty to society. Swami Muktananda, 114 Darshan 38-39.

Brothers in Islam! You who are Iman-Islam! You must not see differences between yourselves and your neighbors. You must not discriminate against any religion. You must not oppress or harm any man, no matter what religion or race he may be. Islam is one and Allah is one; just as we in Islam see Allah as one, we must see all mankind as one. Rasulullah, Islam.

If the righteous man is to serve God in the right way, he must be a man who, no matter what fires he may feel within him, does not allow the flame to burst from the vessel, but performs every tangible action in the manner proper to it. Rabbi Barukh, in Martin Buber, The Tales of the Hasidim, at 91.
