FreePPP 2.5rf

The FreePPP Setup (v2.5v2) is the newer Macintosh dialler Erol's has been shipping. If the account was purchased after Octobeer 1996, this is probably the dialler being used. Older accounts may be using the ConfigPPP. The icon (shown above) installs into the Erol's Internet folder, which should be located on the Desktop. The FreePPP Setup is used to configure the following:

The FreePPP Setup can also display the IP address and throughtput, by clicking on the in the upper right-hand corner of the window.




Error Messages

"A connection was established, but it was an unreliable connection and was terminated."

"The modem does not seem to be responding. PPP was expecting 'OK' from your modem. Your modem may be in use, or is not ready. You might try turning the modem off then on again and clicking 'Retry'."

"Link Dead"

The modem does not seem to be responding. PPP was expecting 'CONNECT' from your modem. Your modem may be in use, or is not ready. You might try turning the modem off then on again and clicking 'Retry'."

"An error occurred while sending data. The modem may be turned off or your cable may not support CTS flow control."

"FreePPP: Insufficient memory to load FreePPP- See documentation for help"


Other Problems

Modem doesn't dial

Connect button is greyed out

Modem disconnects immediatly after establishing a successful connection.

Modem breaks connection after asking for user name and/or password.
