FreePPP 1.0.5 / MacPPP 2.x

The ConfigPPP is a generic name given to both the FreePPP v1.0.5 or MacPPP 2.x. diallers. It was a part of the Erol's Internet software that shipped prior to October 1996. It is a Control Panel and, as such, installs into the Control Panels folder. It is accessed by going up to the menu, choosing "Control Panels", and then selecting "ConfigPPP." If there isn't one, chances are the customer is using the FreePPP Setup. The ConfigPPP is used to configure:

  • Phone number
  • Userid & Password
  • Terminal Window (yes/no)
  • Connect Script (if any)
  • Port the modem is installed on
  • Modem init
  • Port Speed and Flow Control

The ConfigPPP can also display the IP address and throughtput, by clicking on in the upper right-hand corner of the window, and looking at "IP Address: Local" in the lower right-hand corner of the new window.
