Our Mission

Hold an annual memorial service at the monument each spring.  The annual service will pay tribute to those that have given so much to their fellow citizens by mitigating the potential loses from emergency situations, for those that have responded to emergencies, and to the professionals and our elected officials who strive to improve the methods of handling emergencies.

The members of the National Civil Defense Monument Commission express their sincere gratitude to all contributors and supporters of the National Civil Defense/Emergency Management Monument.  Recent events have proven we must always be vigilant and work to protect our Nation.
