 Loftmar Camps

Our summer camp and Christmas camps are a wonderful opportunity for children to make special friends, have fun, learn about horses, and further develop  horsemanship and riding skills. While our program does incorporate riding, it also includes many different and enjoyable activities for your child. This fun mix ensures your child will have life-long memories of their camp experience. This safe and enjoyable opportunity allows children ages 4 to 17 to enjoy hands on equine instruction. Campers are grouped according to both age and riding skills. Your child will spend the week on our 27 rolling acres and be given the chance to participate in many activities.

General Information: Students bring bag lunch, water/juice bottle, drinks (soda machine at the barn) except Wed.-McDonald's day, (bring cash in amount specified in application). Refrigerator is available in lecture room at the house. Riding attire requires long pants and boots or shoes with heels. For the rest of the day, bring shorts, tennis shoes or paddock boots (suit & towel-swim day). ASTM approved helmets available for use. For more advanced riders we offer week over night camps and off premise Horse Show. Look for registration form if you wish to participate in our wonderful program.

Fees: All campers who are not Loftmar students, must take a $40, 1/2 hr. private evaluation lesson, except for those who are going to participate in a non-experienced camp. Weekly camp fees are based upon half or full day schedules (8:30-4:00, 8:30- 11:30 or 12:30-3:30).  Half day camps are reserved for 4-7 year olds.   Before and After care is available from 7:00-8:30 or 4:00-5:30; a late/early fee will be assessed for campers dropped up too early or picked up after the established time.

Staff: We select highly trained and skilled instructors. During your orientation session, instructors will share with you past experiences with horses and children. A ratio of 1 staff to 3 students is usual, depending on age and skill level, but we may have a ratio of 1 instructor to every 8 students in more advanced camps. We want your child to have a safe and enjoyable experience here at Loftmar. *Note: See brochure for information about summer camp applications.

Christmas Camp:  Our weeklong Christmas Camp follows a format similar to our summer camp, beginning an hour later (at 9:30) and ending at 3:00.  The camp is open to riders at all levels and ages, with different riding sessions offered as participation requires.
