Inside the architecture of the
Netscape Navigator 2.01 installation
Netscape 2.01 makes the following changes to Windows 3.1/3.11. The original system.ini and win.ini are saved to the Netscape directory.



Four dialer files are added to Netscape\system.



The following is added to the new system.ini :

The following is added to the new win.ini :
[Netscape]

INI=C:\Netscape\NETSCAPE.INI
dialer=C:\Netscape\dialer
No changes are made to autoexec.bat or config.sys.
The first two icons below appear initially, the rest are created after running Setup Wizard.



An uninstall directory is added. To unenstall 2.01, open File Manager and double click on nuninst.exe from the uninst subdirectory.



After the uninstall routine is finished, open File Manager and delete the Netscape directory (and its contents) if neccessary. Also, delete all related icons and the Netscape Group if it wasn’t deleted by nuninst.exe.
