Inside the architecture of the
Netscape Navigator 1.22 installation
Netscape 1.22 makes the following changes to Windows 3.1/3.11. The original system.ini and win.ini are saved to the Netscape directory.



Four dialer files are added to Netscape\system.



The following is added to the new system.ini :

device=C:\NETSCAPE\system\vtcprac.386
device=C:\NETSCAPE\dial.386

[Network]
SessTimeout=240

[VNTSTIMD]
NumTCBs=255

[DNS]

DNSServers=205.252.116.10,
The following block is added to win.ini:
[Netscape]
Ini=C:\NETSCAPE\NETSCAPE.INI
dialer=C:\NETSCAPE\DIALER
eudora=C:\NETSCAPE\EUDORA
No changes are made to config.sys and autoexec.bat.
Deinstalling Netscape 1.22:

To properly deinstall Netscape 1.22, insert diskette one into the a: drive. Click File, then Run. Type: a:\setup and hit enter.

The diskette should recognize an existing version of Netscape and prompt you with the following:



Choose Deinstall, and choose Yes to the following window:



When finished deinstalling, open File manager to make sure the Netscape directory (and all its contents) are deleted.
