Disabilities and the Performing Arts

Ten years ago, Kitty Lunn had an accident which rendered her paraplegic. This injury, however, did not prevent her from fulfilling her dreams: a career as both actress and dancer. In contrary, with the help of the Performers With Disabilitities Committee (PWD), a organization dedicated to increasing employment opportunities for disabled actors, she set the first steps towards great achievements. Today she is the first wheelchair mobile person ever to hold a Council seat of Actors' Equity Association and then was elected to chair the Performers With Disabilities Committee for Actors' Equity. Ms. Lunn also founded Infinity Dance Theater, a non-traditional dance company for dancers with Disabilities and non disabled dancers over the age of 40. At last, she still has time to work as both an actress and dancer in theater, film, television and concerts.
