Disability in the News Archive Disabilities and the Performing ArtsTen years ago, Kitty Lunn had an accident which rendered
her paraplegic. This injury, however, did not prevent her
from fulfilling her dreams: a career as both actress and
dancer. In contrary, with the help of the Performers With
Disabilitities Committee (PWD), a organization dedicated
to increasing employment opportunities for disabled
actors, she set the first steps towards great
achievements. Today she is the first wheelchair mobile
person ever to hold a Council seat of Actors' Equity
Association and then was elected to chair the Performers
With Disabilities Committee for Actors' Equity. Ms. Lunn
also founded Infinity Dance Theater, a non-traditional
dance company for dancers with Disabilities and non
disabled dancers over the age of 40. At last, she still
has time to work as both an actress and dancer in
theater, film, television and concerts. Back to the Disabiliy in the News Archive
