    |    PeopleSoft and SQR Books... |

    | Galina and Vlad Landres have had great success with their highly acclaimed book 'SQR
in PeopleSoft and Other Applications'... The reviews on Amazon are amazing and well
deserved (5-star rating on 18 reviews)! I had the good fortune of meeting Galina and
collaborating with her and two other great developers on the book 'Essential Guide to
Peoplesoft Development and Customization'. This book covers advanced topics in great
detail... Developing with Application Designer... Using PeopleCode properly with regard to
the Application Processor... Working with Scrolls... SQR, Security and Process
Scheduler... Understanding PeopleSoft COBOL... Application Engine Programming with a
tutorial demonstrating A/E concepts (Decision Logic, Dynamic Sections, Loop Control, Set
Processing) - If you don't know A/E you will after completing this! PLUS detailed
descriptions and examples of new features in PeopleSoft Release 8.0 - some new features
are pretty awesome! More details to follow... FYI - Application Engine has some great
new features in 8.0 (Application Designer integration, PeopleCode actions, File I/O
support, A/E Debugger, etc.) There will definitely be more opportunity for A/E development
in Peoplesoft... There may be some concern about the future of SQR... some sources are now
saying 'Adios SQR'... 'Bye Bye SQR'... and other similar nonsense... Don't be alarmed...
SQR isn't going away... I can guarantee that... There's plenty of room for SQR and
    Application Engine... |
