The Legion of Chaos & other swordtales
The Legion of Chaos was begun back in the 80s
by Lord Arik Chaelyn Nightblade and Lord Kalidor BlackStone. At
its height, it had almost 20 members. It now hosts only a few,
mostly original members, such as the Founders, and those who helped
by holding Council positions. Those to whom the Legion held the
most meaning, always seem to return, no matter how long the absence.
And they are welcomed.
We now concentrate on maintaining the friendships
gained in the LoC, as life interferes with jobs, travel, marriages,
children, etc. We once in a while gather for things like BladeFest,
which is a weekend sparring/cookout session once a year, usually
in the autumn while the weather is not too cool, not too hot.
Arik boasts an impressive collection of swords,
from Toledos, to the Ravenna,
to what seems to be his favorite, a Damascus
Viking Broadsword. He prefers European style to the katana,
which seems favored by many sword enthusiasts.
His wife, the Lady Cheyanne WhiteWolf, doesn't
have the knack with swords Arik does, so, she's insted learned
how to use the flail
with some effectiveness. Thier children are already learning swordplay,
thier son, Weylan, showing an aptitude for archery as well.
Someday, perhaps the Legion will make a resurgence.
But that is not what matters. What matters are the friendships
(and in some cases, marriages, as the Legion is how Arik and Cheyanne
met many years ago) that are born and nurtured in the group. Or,
as I prefer to call it, the family.
A good number of the LoC and friends gather every
year for the RenFaires: Maryland and Pennsylvania. Those that
allow blades (ie PennFaire), well, we have a trunkload of blades
and other equipment to help garb anyone who's missing things.

proves it, as Arik and I are the only ones who normally have garb.
