LEAGUE RULES

League Dues and The Kitty

League Dues for the JFL will be $280 per team, $30 of which will go towards weekly transactions (discussed later).  A small portion of the total purse will also be used to fuel this web site.  The remainder will be divulged into the League Kitty (displayed on the League Balance page) for weekly and yearly payouts.  All transaction money will be added to this kitty.  Weekly, the kitty totals will be updated and displayed for the teams to review.

Weekly Payouts

Each week the team with the most points for the week will receive the weekly honors to the tune of $50.  Although this may seem petty, one week on the top covers over 1/5 of your league dues!  This money will be deducted from the League Kitty.   Weekly payouts will be made up until week 17, which means that even if you are not in the playoffs, you have the opportunity to make money!

Yearly Payouts

The yearly payouts will be made at the end of the year and will include all money remaining in the Kitty after weekly payouts (including all transaction money).   Money is distributed as follows:
Super Bowl Winner 40%
Super Bowl Loser 15%
Overall Points Winner 25%
Second Place Overall Points 10%
2nd Round Playoff Losers 3.5% each
1st Round Playoff Losers 1.5% each

Draft Order

The draft order will be determined by Mr. Hat.  The division's will be determined by Mr. Hat's younger brother, Mr. Chateau. Mr. Chateau, however, will not be in attendance until after the draft.

Transactions

Each week, each team has the opportunity to make up to two transactions, each of which will consist of dropping one player to pick up another.   Transactions have been broken into two categories.  Vital transactions and Standard transactions.  Vital transactions will be available to the public starting Tuesday morning at 12:00 am midnight, and will close at 11:59 pm on Wednesday.  These transactions will cost $10 per move.  Standard transactions will be available starting at the close of the Vital transactions (Thursday, midnight) and will close on Friday at 11:59 pm.  These transactions will be $5.   On a week when there is a Saturday game, Standard transactions must be in by Thursday night 11:59 pm. For Thursday games, there will be no Vital transactions, and all Standard transactions must be submitted in the window between 12:00 am midnight on Monday through 11:59 pm on Tuesday.  Finally, ALL TRANSACTIONS MUST BE PROMPTLY SUBMITTED AT THESE TIMES AS I HAVE DEVELOPED THIS WEB SITE TO AUTOMATICALLY LIMIT YOUR SUBMISSIONS TO ACCORDINGLY.

Weekly transaction orders will be determined by record, where worst record goes first, best goes last.  Ties in record will be determined by Overall Points, where worst total goes first, best goes last.  Any ties in Overall Points will be broken by the previous week's order, such that the team that picked first in the previous week will pick last.

Rosters and Line-Ups

Each team must submit a roster each week with one of the following formations:
QB RB RB WR WR WR TE K DT
QB RB WR WR WR WR TE K DT
QB RB WR WR WR TE TE K DT
QB RB RB WR WR TE TE K DT

Line-ups are due by midnight the night before the first game of the week.  For your convenience, this web site will not allow invalid formations or line-up errors (starting Danny Kanell instead of Brett Favre does not constitute an error).  AGAIN, BY VIRTUE OF THE WEB SITE, YOU WILL BE UNABLE TO SUBMIT YOUR LINE-UP AFTER THE PRESCRIBED DEADLINE!  CURRENT TIMES AND DATES WILL BE POSTED ON THE SITE, SO BE CERTAIN THAT YOUR LINE-UP IS SUBMITTED PROMPTLY ON TIME!  CURRENT TIME IS BASED ON THE SERVER CLOCK, NOT YOUR SYSTEM CLOCK!  Also, any line-up that is not submitted will result in the starting of the prior week's line-up.

Scheduling and the Playoffs

The season will consist of a 14 week schedule, culminating in a playoff of the top six seeds.  All three division leaders (by record) will automatically make the cut and will be the top three seeds (even if a non-division winner has a better record).  The remaining three slots will be granted to the top three teams (by record), regardless of division.  Seed 1 and 2 will get the bye for Playoff Week I, while seed 3 plays seed 6, and seed 4 plays seed 5.  Thereafter, the top seed will always play the lowest.

All tie breakers will be determined by Overall Record, Head-to-Head, Division Record, Overall Points,  Division Points, Non-Division Record, then Non-Division Points, in that order.

All points accumulated during the playoffs by all teams will contribute to the team's Overall Points standings. All teams will be eligible to win the weekly prizes as well, not just the contending teams.

The End...  Or is it just the beginning?
