In July 2003, Donna and I backpacked the Bill Hall Trail to Deer Creek Canyon and the Colorado River. On the return, we took a day hike to Thunder River before completing the five-day/four-night trip. This report describes our experience and contains a few photos, while providing brief trail descriptions. These pages are organized by daily logs that are accessible through the links below. Throughout the report there are thumbnail images that are linked to larger photos, just click on the thumbnails to see the larger version.
Backcountry permit reservations and general park information is can be found at the National Park Service Grand Canyon site.
If you're looking for detailed trip reports, with maps and better trail descriptions, you need go no further than Bob Ribokas' excellent Grand Canyon Explorer Website.
I consulted Ron Adkison's Hiking Grand Canyon National Park prior to the trip and it is an excellent resource.
