Entrepreneurial equity investor with over 25 years professional experience investing in small to medium-size public companies as an analyst, portfolio manager, and Managing Partner and chief strategist in a private investment hedge fund. Operational management experience as a Chief Executive of a publicly held company. Educated as an attorney and was a legal and legislative aide to a U.S. Congressman.
Extensive international experience with specialized knowledge and working experience in China. Designed China's first foreign-assisted technical assistance program (1978) and managed the first project under the program. Key policy advisor to the Chinese Government on the establishment of China's domestic professional services industry, reform of the science and technology sector, government sector procurement reform, and establishment of China's venture capital industry. Consultant to State Development Planning Commission, Ministry of Science and Technology, Ministry of Foreign Trade and Economic Cooperation, Ministry of Information Industry, Xinhua News Agency, and other Chinese Units.
Extensive international experience specializing in project evaluation and startup, project financing, mergers & acquisitions, and business and strategic planning. As Vice President of Strategic Development for a major US transportation company was responsible for a major divestiture program, startup of a new service between the US and Southeast Asia, and preparation of five-year business plans for two $500 million expansion programs. As Manager of Project Financing for a major US engineering and construction company was responsible for securing financing, including non-recourse financing, for a variety of large-scale industrial projects.
