What follows on this page is a small selection of my public sculpture

examples of my domestic size bronzes, and this short biography.

and graduated from The Cooper Union School of Art in Manhattan. He served
in the military as an artist in Army Special Forces. In 1964 he left the United

He has made his career in both the U.S. and in Europe.

first individual show in Manhattan and the following year his first such show
in London. He has had four additional individual shows in Manhattan,
including a major retrospective in 1984, six in London, seven in Barcelona,

An 8 by 13 by 6 foot high-polished bronze torso of "David" on an 18 foot
pedestal at the base of which rest a 5 by 5 by 8 foot polished bronze
shattered helmet of the defeated "Goliath". Sponsored by some of the most
important names in American arts and letters for placement in Barcelona, it
was the first monument in Spain to honor the international volunteers who
fought for the Republican cause during the Spanish Civil War (1937-39).
The artist was commissioned by the City of Barcelona to design the
sculptured 100 foot by 100 foot three pointed star (symbol of the
volunteers) plaza in which the sculpture is set. Its dedication on the fifthieth
anniversary of the volunteer's departure from Spain was an international
event.

Horses of
Extremadura 1994
|
|
A trio of 12 by 10 by 5 foot bronze horses placed on the entry plaza at The
University of Extremadura in Badjoz, Spain.
Commissioned to
commemorate the 500th anniversary of the start of the colonization of the
Americas, much of it by individuals from the provence of Extremadura. The
work represents one of the most favorable, if unintended, aspects of that
colonization; the escape of those Spanish horses that went on to populate the
Great Plains and to change and improve the lives of the indigenous peoples.
