Dear Members, Friends, and Supporters,

CARD was formed by a group of neighbors in Western Prince William County. We have worked diligently to keep our own community and others in neighboring counties informed, to work with groups who have similar goals, and to educate the public and the decision makers. Everything has happened through the efforts of volunteers like yourself and your family. Things like attending public meetings and hearings aren´t joyful tasks, but we are making a positive impact.

Our following has become very broad. However, The issue of the Western Transportation Corridor is still unresolved and we must continue our opposition to this developer´s road.

On July 4 we will broaden the awareness of the public at the Annual Piedmont Environmental Council Fair. This is a great place for a family excursion with a broad variety of entertaining activities held at Airlee in Fauquier County. CARD will not only have a place to disperse information, but also to raise funds from a bake sale. We will need baked goods, people to collect and deliver them to Airlee, and people to help man the tent during the event.

We thank all of you who have supported us with donations. We appreciate everyone´s contribution. Included with this letter is a bumber sticker which we expect to spring up like wild flowers all over the community. We have no paid staff and although we have kept all costs to a minimum, we have incurred significant expenses. We require no dues or fees, but we need funds to continue our efforts as this issue drags on. Donations large and small are appriciated - and needed.
