This old family photograph is labeled on the back as "Uncle Tom Stokes." I have very little information about him. My guess is that this is the Thomas Stokes who married Ellen Welsh, who was a daughter of John Welsh (1805-1886) and a sister of Alice Welsh Strawbridge. My records show that Ellen Welsh was born in 1850, so this Thomas must have born in that same general time period.
