to be near their daughter who was to take a course at Evanston
university.

Notes from a letter of Mr. Homer Strawbridge Mouser of Huron,
So. Dakota.
"Justus Strawbridge (the writer's grandfather), as I understand
it, came of the English colonists who, under Cromwell, settled
in the north of Ireland."
"Ann Closen or Closon, was born in 1716, in Philadelphia,
as I understand it. She married a Mr. Heap, and became the mother
of Frances Heap, who married a Maus, and was the mother of Susanna
Maus who married Justus Strawbridge, also of Joseph, Charles,
Lewis and Elizabeth or "Betsey." The Maus were Dutch,
from Holland, who were said to have been very wealthy, coming
to America in their own ship, and bringing with them great stores
of wines, etc., and settling in Philadelphia."
"A locket which belonged to Ann Closen is owned by a member of the Mouser family, also her Sampler, of which the closing words are 'I shall conclude and make an end, the best I do I hope to mend, Ann Closen' (or Closon). Her Sampler finished in the tenth year of her age, 1726."
