He sent a copy of this photograph to his mother, Alice Welsh Strawbridge. The picture was taken in France in 1919 at Heuilly Le Grande, where he was the Captain of the Headquarters Troop of the 319th Field Artillery. The picture includes the local parish priest surrounded by his congreation. Also shown is Lieutenant Allen of the U.S. Army. There is a 155-millimeter artillery piece shown behind the people.
