Despite decades of analysis, projections, predictions and all sorts of  recommendations not a single Pakistani leasder has yet succeeded in uniting  Pakistani people as one nation. It is not a criticism but a concern which resulted in my concience a search for that particular element missing from our  conciencness, ideology or what we call "shaoor". I am not at all educated in
Pakistani politics but my association with Americans, Indians and a few Pakistanies of course, have raised a sense of perspective into this delima. Having worked in some of the of the most sensitive areas of U.S. Dept. of Defense related technologies, I have come across on several ocassions, Indian groups of scientists and Engineers who have, in great length demonstrated a keen and sincere interest in developing a 100% Indian owned hi-tech R&D forms in USA for the benefit of India as a nation, and of course, individuals obviously get the benefit, but their vision and desire for such a cuase is
absolutely laudable. On the other hand, not one Pakistani scientist or engineer I have met who has ever indicated any interest in this sort of business. The point I am trying to make is, that why such a simple and a very practical idea of this type is in the minds and thoughts of Indian scientists and engineers and even the businessmen, but not among Pakistanies? I am sure
there are several explainations for this devoid. But this selfishness and lack of national concern is prevelant not only among Pakistanies but among majority of the muslim world i.e., Saudi Arabia, Kuwait, Egypt, Syria, BanglaDesh, Iran, Jordan etc.. Not one country has set up an advance R&D lab in USA whereas India, Indonesia, Malyasia, Singapore, Taiwan, Hong Kong, Israel, South Africa, Korea, and other developing countries have. Their R&D Labs in USA are engaged in developing propriatory technology without any hinderance of any US govt. restrictions due to the fact that they are all owned and operated by ther ex-pats of their origin countries who are now naturalized US citizens with equal rights to engage in any business they chose. Why not Pakistanies?

Any one ther listening??

Education:

Pakistan's single most reason for it's present condition is the lack of mass education, not what is being dished out to unsuspecting citizens, not what the politicians like to use to benefit themselves, but education for the masses that will enable the ENTIRE country to move forward and not just the 2% (or whatever that number is)  which is the bulk of the wealthy, educated.

I think if the founders of Pakistan committed a mistake, it was in the area of education and language. Arabic instead of Urdu or any of the other dialectic or regional languages would have been the best choice. This would have removed any possibility of sectarianism (which is tha case presently) and no one group would have reason to complain.

Ultimately, education, on a mass level is the irrefutable single ingedient missing from Pakistan's overall society! I must caution you, though, that the "ruling class", including the present government, probably will never allow that to happen! Sadly that has been the case since the birth of this half-baked nation.

The implementation of new and vibrant economic plans is fine, but, without education none of that is going to work.
