Military Record of Thomas Hayth/Heath

From Adj. General, War Dept., Washington --

"The name Thomas Heath first appears upon a company payroll for April 1777 as a private, Capt. Nathaniel Fox's Company Sixth Virginia Regiment, Continental Line, commanded by Lt. Col. James Hendricks. He is reported to have been discharged as a private from that organization on Feb. 11, 1778.


In the Archives Dept., Virginia State Library we find the same record. From Eckenrode's Special Report: -- Under Casualties is note "Left in Virginia."


Officer's Commission

From McAllister's Virginia Military in Revolutionary War, -- Bedford County -- pg. 187:
1781 -- April 21, Thomas Haythe (Heath?) -- Sworn in as First Lieutenant.
1783 -- Nov. 15, -- Thomas Heath -- Received through George Mason, amount due him."
