From Adj. General, War Dept., Washington -- "The name Thomas Heath first appears upon a company payroll for April 1777 as a private, Capt. Nathaniel Fox's Company Sixth Virginia Regiment, Continental Line, commanded by Lt. Col. James Hendricks. He is reported to have been discharged as a private from that organization on Feb. 11, 1778.
In the Archives Dept., Virginia State Library we find the same record. From Eckenrode's Special Report: -- Under Casualties is note "Left in Virginia."
