History of the Moorman Family

Achilles, a third son of Thomas Moorman (1705-1766), married Frances Herndon and had issue: Thomas Clark; Achilles, who married Mary Jones, daughter of James Jones; Edmund, who didn't marry; Mary Wilkens (the name Polly is handwritten on our copy), who married William Hoythe, October 23, 1800; Lafayette; David Herdon; Pleasant, who married Clarissa Pyron; Patsy, who married (1) Jeremiah Keen Terrell, of Misissippi; Elizabeth (born January 7, 1800), who married John I. Moorman, son of Henry; Fanny, who married William Gallion; Lettie, who married Charles Ballon, and Charles Hancock, who married Ann Chilton, daughter of Dick Chilton.
Had Five Children
Achilles Moorman's (1713-1783) son, William, had five children by his first wife, Jane Haden: Jones H., who married Nancy Owen; Mary, who married James Quisenberry; William; John, who married Ann Robinson, and Elizabeth, who married Jack Webb. William and his second wife, Judith Venable, had four children: Lewis, who married Harriet Owen; Virginia, who married Grant Owen; Lucretia Venable, who married Thomas Grant Owen, and Jesse, who married Rebecca Jackson.
February 14, 1785, Jesse, William's brother, married Elizabeth Buckner Stith. They had: Alanson, Stith, William, Lucy, who married Thomas Robinson, and a daughter who married David Herndon.
Mary Wilkens Moorman, daughter of Achilles Moorman and Frances Herndon, married William Hoythe (the name Hayth is handwritten on our copy) October 23, 1800. Their children were: Achilles, who married a Miss Finch; Martha, who married (1) a Woodson and (2) John Stoner; Thomas, whose wife is unknown; Frances, who married a Lynes; Benjamin, who wife is not known; Catherine, who married Allen Furgeson; William, who married Maria, sister of John Stoner; Emerline, who married Samuel Peticreu, and Missouri, who married a Shaneds and moved to Missouri.
Pleasant, brother of Mary Wilkens Moorman, married Clarissa Pyron and had issue: Achilles Lucian, who married Mary Stone; Granville Independence, Ann, Francis, Elizabeth, and Catherine.
Elizabeth (born 1800), daughter of Achilles Moorman and Frances Herndon, married John I. Moorman and had five children: Achilles Henry, who married a Miss Brooks; Lucie Anne, who died young; Mary Elizabeth, who married (1) William Johnson and (2) a Whithers; Samuel Edward (died July, 1863) and John Independence.
Note: There is more to this, but this appears to be the part relating to the Hayth's.
