Emma Phibbs has been added to the list of U.S. Nationals competitors slated to receive $300 in competitor's support from the club. Total year-to-date income (9/1/01-12/31-01) was $43,332.72 and total expenses were $40,354.15. The annual report to the IRS, Form 990, was filed by the January 15 deadline. Membership totals 711, with 659 home club members.
The Club is now offering the popular Plié Power class which began January 14 and will run through March 18 (10 weeks) from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m., followed by the dance session from 7:30 to 9:00 p.m. SkateQuest Reston will present two clinics by Kathy Casey on March 23 (adults only) and March 24, 2002.
The CRC Competition is to be held on March 9 and 10, 2002 at the U.S. Naval Academy. The dates listed in the subscription brochure for the Cherry Blossom Competition are incorrect; the correct dates are April 25-28, 2002.
As a way to honor our Olympian, Michael Weiss, the board approved a motion to purchase for him the Olympic torch which he carried in the torch relay. The board also passed a motion to take a quarter page ad in the Adult Nationals program, highlighting the 2002 Pro Am and next year's New Year's Adult Invitational. An exhibition by Adult Nationals competitors will be held Sunday, March 17 at Mt. Vernon, 5:30-7:00 p.m. The USFSA Governing Council will be held May 9-11, 2002 in Minneapolis, MN.
