2008 WFSC Ice Dance Weekend

Hi WFSC members,
Washington Figure Skating Club will hold a dance weekend May 16-18, 2008. For this social event, we will extend an invitation to ice dancers around the country and even the world to meet and dance with others who have like interests. Participants are mostly adults or skaters that are adult sized. This is an opportunity for ice dancers to dance with different partners and for some ladies an opportunity to dance with men other than their pros. Skaters of all levels are welcomed, accommodated and encouraged to join the event.
Activities include an ice dance session Friday evening, ice dance sessions Saturday morning, ice dance group lessons, ice dance sessions Saturday afternoon, dinner (ballroom) dance Saturday evening, ice dance session Sunday morning and farewell luncheon Sunday noon.
Skating will be at
Mt. Vernon Ice Rink and the dinner dance will be at
Gadsby's Museum Tavern, both in Alexandria, VA.
We need volunteers to help plan and run this dance weekend. Some of the needs are registration (both before and during the weekend), rink side food management, a DJ for ballroom dance, a DJ for ice dancing, transportation coordination (parking is limited at Gadsby's), and whatever else may come up.
