XIV. Achievement of the International Volkssport Award
1. Conditions for the achievement of the International Volkssport Award:
a) The International Volkssport Award provides an excellent incentive for regular participation in IVV events, thus promoting the idea of public health.
b) Condition for gaining the International Volkssport Award is accomplishment of the given distances at the international Volkssport events without obligatory times. Only sanctioned events of clubs which are members of an IVV National Volkssport Federation or of IVV as single clubs will be validated.
c) Member clubs are listed in the yearly IVV Calendar of Events and mark the terms for their events with the logo of their National Volkssport Federation, the IVV logo and the sanctioning number.
d) Obtaining an International Volkssport Award is not limited to a certain calendar year.
e) Active participation is confirmed by an IVV stamp in the IVV record book. Record books can be purchased during the events of the member clubs.
f) IVV stamp is given after active participation on presentation of start card and record book. Name on IVV start card and IVV record book must be identical.
g) For every kind of Volkssport - with exception of sanctioned more-days-walks - one IVV event stamp is given. For kilometer recording, the actually accomplished number of kilometers will be listed in the IVV record book. The IVV record book is not transferable.
h) International Volkssport Awards are bestowed in several forms and grades as follows:
aa) Event recording: after 10, 30, and 50 events, then after every 25 events.
bb) Kilometer recordingafter every 500 km, from 8000 km to 22000 km after every 1000 km, from 22000 km after every 3000 km, from 25000 km after every 5000 km.
For every level, a separate record book must be presented.
I) Completed IVV record books must be sent:
aa) from countries in which a National IVV Volkssport Federation exists, to the address of this Federation.
bb) from all other countries to the address of IVV.
j) The obtained International Volkssport Award (pin) together with a certificate and a patch will be given or mailed to the acquirer free of charge (full award).
The restricted award of the International Volkssport Award only provides the bestowal of a certificate.
Regarding event recording: from 1500 on and kilometer recording: from 22000 km on a patch and a special certificate will be mailed to the acquirer free of charge.
k) Possessors of the International Volkssport Award may also purchase the corresponding grade as breast pin.
2. IVV stamp tables must be clearly marked and should be situated close to the finish. Each stamp table must be attended by two grown-up, reliable persons who fully know the IVV Rules.
3. Only those stamps that have been issued by National Volkssport Federations or by IVV itself and bearing the official control number may be used as IVV stamps. In due time before an event the IVV stamp will be sent to the organizing club, and the stamp must be returned the day after the event.
4. The IVV stamp may only be given on the day of the event and only when:
a) the participant personally presents his start card and his record book
b) name on start card and IVV record book are identical and
c) all the necessary checkpoint stamps are completely listed on the start card
Disabled and handicapped persons may also obtain the IVV stamp when they did not gain all the necessary checkpoint stamps.
5. Participants of a sanctioned more-days-walk obtain an IVV event stamp for every day on which they completed the given distance. When giving up before reaching the finish, no IVV event stamp will be given.
6. Participants presenting more than one IVV record book and more than one start card may not receive the IVV stamp.
7. The IVV stamps may only be listed in official IVV record books.
8. IVV stamps outside a sanctioned event can only be given by the National Volkssport Federations and the IVV.
9. Bicycling Distance Award
a) The conditions for acquisition of the International Volkssport Award are valid as stated in article XIII/la-ld of the Rules
b) Kilometer recording: The completed bicycling distance will be listed with an IVV-stamp marked with a "B" only in the participant's record book for Bicycling Kilometer Recording. Only the actually accomplished number of kilometers will be listed in this IVV record book.
c) Event recording: For every event attended, only one IVV stamp will be given, notwithstanding the number of kilometers accomplished.
d) For events offering bicycling and walking tours at the same time, one event stamp will be given for each discipline. For kilometer recording, the accomplished kilometers will be listed however for walking and bicycling in the participant's specified record book.
e) The conditions for the acquisition of the International Volkssport Award are valid as stated in article XIII, 4 of the Rules.
f) The International Kilometer Bicycling Award is bestowed in the following grades: Every 1000 km, 2500 km, 5000 km, 7500 km and 10000 km; then every 5000 km. Completed IVV record books must be sent to the address of the National Volkssport Federation or of the IVV (see XIII,l,i).
g) The obtained IVV Bicycle Distance Award (pin) together with a certificate will be given or mailed to the acquirer free of charge. The restricted award of the International Volkssport Award only provides the bestowal of a certificate.
h) Possessors of the IVV Bicycle Distance Award may also purchase the corresponding grade as a breast pin.
