MIGHTY MOUSE DESERVES A MOVIE!!!!!
To all MM fans:
It seems to me that within the past few years, to this
day, every cartoon charector that was ever drawn on a
piece of paper is getting a motion picture. All that is
except Mighty Mouse! What is wrong with this
picture?? Let's see, Mighty Mouse was the very first
cartoon charector to appear on Saturday mornings.
Let's face it, we all grew up on Mighty Mouse singing
his famous "Here I come to save the Day!!!!!", and with
out him we probably would not have at least half of
the other charectors that we have today, as a lot of
them got their start on the Saturday morning circet.
Yes, charectors have been put on the big screen from
Casper the Friendly Ghost, to Inspector Gadget, George
of the Jungle, Mr. Magoo and Rocky & Bullwinckle.
Now, I'm not saying that there is anything wrong with
them getting a movie, but what's fair is fair and I for
one am getting sick and tired of MM always being
passed over.
Besides, what 2 types of movies usualy do well at the
box office? Animation and super hero flicks and MM is
both, he can't lose. As long as they make it the right
way, NO LIVE ACTION!!! Keep him animated the way he
is and should be. Also, what people can do with
computer graphics these days, can you imagine what
they can do with a MM movie? Looks great already
dosen't it??
But futermore, it's the charector himself that is
perfect movie matterial. You can just do a lot more
with MM than you can do with those other charectors
because he is a superhero.
I feel that the problem is with the company that
licenses him, Viacom. They have owned his licensing
rights for years, so where is he?? You don't see his
cartoons on TV, in comic books and no movie yet.
Meanwhile all of these other charectors are coming
back; so when is it going to be his turn??
Oh sure, it was said, in the past, that there was a
movie in the works, but nothing was made, a comic
book was supposed to come out last summer, again
nothing. And why isn't he on TV?? He should be on
"The Cartoon Network" or "Nikelodeon" (also owned by
Viacom). At one piont there was a Viacom
Enertainment Store in Chicago. It sold MM stuff, very
nice MM merchandise. They wanted to compete with
the Disney and WB store chains. But, they did not
branch out and the store closed down some years ago.
Smart huh? Not branching it out.
I say, you have to take a chance. It's what all of those
other people did with all of those other cartoon
charectors and they all have movies. It's what Paul
Terry did when he invented MM almost 60 years ago.
It's what Viacom has to do with MM. Get him out there,
put him back on TV and make that MM movie!!!!! He
and his fans, like myself, deserve it!!!!!
Now, fellow MM fans, I need your help. I can't do this
alone, I've tried. Please, E-mail Viacom, here is the
URL, Viacom , you can ask them to look into makeing a
MM movie and why there has not been one yet?
Viacom dose own Paramount Pictures. Remind them
of those other charectors who have gotten movies. The
more MM fans that write Viacom the better. One of the
best reasons for him to have a movie is so that the
younger generations will be able to see him. The more
the better. And you can also tell them to put MM back
on TV where he belongs :)
I thank all of you for taking the time to read this
article, and for your help. MM has saved the day many
a time, now it's our turn to save the day for him!!!!!
