A message to Viacom:

To the people in charge of Mighty Mouse licensing. I know that I speak for all of the Mighty Mouse fans out there when I say thank you for having an interest in producing a Mighty Mouse movie.

However, I must say this. Mighty Mouse MUST be seen before this movie comes out. Holding off on anything else for Mighty Mouse 'till the time of the movie is not a good idea. You should promote him and the sooner the better.

I know that there has been a Jeff Gordon race car and Avon watch done this year. However, he's one of the last of the hold-outs as far as DVD. How about putting out all of his cartoons on DVD? This year does mark the 50th anniversary of the Mighty Mouse Playhouse. How about putting out a special DVD set for this featuring his Terry-Toons cartoons from this time? Putting out the Filmation and Bakshi MM series of the late 70's to late 80's to DVD would also be a good idea.

All in all, your property (Mighty Mouse) has a long and proud history. I know that this movie shall be a great success, but to have even more success the star really should be seen before the movie :)

Just thought that I'd pass this along :)

On October 16th, 2005 Mighty Mouse turned 63.

Happy 63rd Mighty Mouse!!

I don't think he had a problem blowing out all of those candles :)

My name is Neil Beck. I am 27 years old and have been a Mighty Mouse fan for 19 years! I have also collected "The Mouse of Steel" for 13 years! I have a very large and unique collection if I do say so myself (as seen on HGTV's "Ultimate Collectors" on May 17th, 2003).

There was a movie once that had a famous line in it, "If you build it, they will come." Yes, we all know that the movie was "Field of Dreams" and even though my plan was not to build a baseball diamond (I'm not even from Iowa, but I have a friend there), I think that the saying works with this site also.

This site is for MM fans and people who just might want to know a bit about the "Mouse of Might". It's also to preserve the memory and history of the one and only Mighty Mouse! And come you have, so welcome to my site :)

I consider myself "The Bad Boy of Mighty Mouse Fans" because I do things for Mighty that, I think, nobody else has done before.

Like putting Mighty Mouse cartoons with some of today's hottest music. "What!?" You ask. Simple, I have over 100 Mighty Mouse cartoons on tape, some going back to the 40's. I turn the volume all the way down on the TV, pop a cd in the stereo, and there it is: a Mighty Mouse Music Video!! "What groups do I play his cartoons with?" You ask. Well:

The Smashing Pumpkins, R.E.M., Alice In Chains,The Stone Temple Pilots, Soundgarden, Bush, NIRVANA, Metallica, etc.

The cartoons look "Mighty" cool, and some of them go perfectly with particular songs. The music is fast and powerful, just like Mighty Mouse!!!!! And I am always trying to get Mighty back on TV where he belongs! So I fight for Mighty.

So sit back, relax and enjoy the site :)

Attention Fellow Mighty Mouse Fans:

I want to hear from you! Tell me what got you interested in Mighty Mouse. And if you are a MM collector, tell me a little about it. Or if you are someone that sells old toys, or comic books, and you have Mighty Mouse, please let me know as I am always on the lookout for him. If you are selling something, I need to know the description (what it is), year, condition, and what company made it. If it is a comic book, I need to know the year, number, and title (publication).

MIGHTY  MOUSE  TRIVIA!!!!!

(It starts out easy but, it gets harder along the way!)

Good Luck!!

#1. What was the name of the man who invented Mighty Mouse?

#2. What Rock Group has the same name, as the first name, of Mighty's girlfriend?

#3. What was the name of Mighty's little pal in the "Ralph Bakshi's Mighty Mouse, the new adventures" series?

#4. In what cartoon did Mighty meet his girlfriend?

#5. What was the name of the first Mighty Mouse cartoon series on TV?

#6. Was Mighty Mouse always known as Mighty Mouse? If not, what was his name?

#7. What was the title of the only, feature length, Mighty Mouse cartoon, and what Mighty Mouse series made it?

(Look for the answers to the MM Trivia at the bottom of this site)

DID YOU KNOW?

Mighty Mouse was the first cartoon character ever to appear on Saturday mornings. "The Mighty Mouse Playhouse" (MM Trivia #5 answer:)) aired on CBS on December 10th, 1955 and lasted for 11 years, thus also becoming the longest lasting Saturday morning cartoon series.

Mighty Mouse was in the world's first 3-D comic book. Published by St. John comics in 1953.

Mighty Mouse was the very first cartoon super hero animal. Others have followed, none have lasted as long or have been as popular, no, not even Under Dog, who's girlfriend is a spoof off of Mighty's.

Mighty saved Mickey!

That's right, if it was not for Mighty Mouse, Mickey Mouse would not be around. You see, when Mighty Mouse was just about to be introduced, Mickey's popularity was going down. People were not going to the movie theaters (where people used to go to watch cartoons) to watch the Mickey Mouse cartoons, and Disney was going to pull Mickey from existance. Then Mighty Mouse came to save the day! People loved the Mighty Mouse cartoons, and went to see them in the movie theatres. To get to the Mighty Mouse cartoons, they had to watch the Mickey Mouse cartoons. So Disney thought Mickey was popular again and kept Mickey going. So you see, Mighty Mouse saved Mickey's tail!!!!!

MM News from Mouseville:

MIGHTY MOUSE MOVIE NEWS HERE

New image for MM movie!!

3-27-05

Here is a production image of a scene being used in the MM movie:

It appears that MM is going to be put in the human world a bit in this film.

This looks like a street scene in New York City.

(Note: If anyone has any solid information or images, that is not already on this site, on the Mighty Mouse movie being made by Nickelodeon, please E-mail it to me and I shall post it on this site.)

Here kitty...kitty..kitty ;)

Possible model for the MM movie. This image floated around the Net a few years back and I think that is was one idea that someone had (not me) of what he may look like in the movie.

New images for MM movie posted!!

2-12-06

Below are a few images of what Mighty Mouse, Pearl Pureheart and Oil Can Harry may look like for the movie. Keep in mind that these images are not set in stone, but they are probably what the animators are leaning towards doing. These images were done by Barry Jackson, who is an animation director for the MM movie.

Here's the star :)

Notice how simaler he looks to the model posted some years back? Guess they did go with that image. Yes, the long red gloves are going to take some getting used to, but I like this look and love the expression on his face. He's got his classic look, but with a modern touch..."Mighty" cool :) I know that I'm going to pick up a yellow shirt with the 2 M logo on it when it comes out :) Hey, they make hero logo shirts for all the others, so why not Mighty Mouse?

Head shots of MM. Some interesting looks there :)

Mighty's "Mouse Pad"

I love what he's done with the place :) The wheel is a great touch and, as you can see, he's been using it :) I also love the fact that they are putting him in the human world.

Mighty at home with Pearl (yes, that's Pearl). I know, I know...what's with her hair. Remember, these images are not set in stone that they will look just like this in the movie. Maybe she just wanted to do something different after 60+ years of being a blonde. Besides, Mighty does not seem to mind :)

Oil Can Harry

Okay, so there is no more zoot suit and hat, but if you want an evil look, here it is. He looks all around nasty and one cat that we'd love to see MM thrash :)

This is an image to show the size of MM compared to Oil Can Harry.

Head shots of Oil Can Harry.

Well, there you have it, new images of what MM, his place, Pearl and Oil Can Harry may look like in the movie due out sometime next year (2007).

Other Years of interest as far as anniversarys for MM

Attn: Mighty Mouse fans:

New, as of 2002/'03:

Due to the interest in this site for Mighty Mouse fans, I think that it would be a good idea for the MM fans to celebrate Mighty Mouse. I call it the "MM Fan's Scrap Book". This will be a link on my site, as part of "MM Fandom" for the fans to celebrate your fandom for the great mouse.

I'm looking for your MM memories, MM drawings (if you drew any), pics of yourself dressed up as MM (if you ever did), pics of your MM collection (if you are a collector) MM songs (if you wrote any) if you own or are part of a business with MM as part of your logo, a pic. of that would also do. If you worked for any MM series, please feel free to contribute as well :)

If anyone is interested in being a part of the Scrap Book, E-mail me any of the above following and I'll add it to the page with your name and state (unless you say otherwise). Send them to me as soon as you can (if it is an image or pic., please send them as a jpeg if it is a story please send it as a txt file).

I just thought that this would be a good thing for all the MM fans to do for us to help celebrate the "Mouse of Might" :)

MM Fandom

To all MM fans:

From the other sites that I have seen dealing with cartoons; they all have a fan section. So, I thought that it was "Mighty" time that I had one on my site as well. I trust that the MM fans have some great ideas for MM and here's your chance to show it off :)

This is a section of my MM site that is devoted to you, the fans, to show off you MM creativity :) This section will have links to MM Fanfiction, MM drawings and or artwork, the MM Fan's Scrapbook and more. If you have anything that you'd like to submit, please E-mail it to me at my E-mail address as posted on this site and I shall make sure that it gets on :) Please send all artwork as jpeg files and all fanfiction as txt files.

I look forward to hearing from you and seeing your MM work to post :)

Please, NO X-RATED MATERIAL!!!!!

MM Fanfiction That's right, the first ever MM fanfiction link. MM stories written by MM fans :) Also see the link to "MOUSEAPOLUSA", my MM fanfiction, at the bottom of this page :)

MM Drawings and artwork

MM Fan's FAQ's Here's a look at some of the FAQ's that are E-mailed to me.

An example of how Mighty Mouse saves the day for anyone and everyone:

To all of the Superman fans out there, who'd win in a fight again?

Green rocks may harm the "Man of Steel", but the "Mouse of Steel"........... not so much :)

This artwork was done by my girlfriend, BC Davis and more of her MM artwork shall be posted in the "MM Fan's Scrapbook" link (including MM saving Underdog, Spiderman and...yes...a bust on Mickey) in the coming days.

MM Symbol Contest

That's right, a new symbol for MM as created by his fans. We know that our hero never had, nor did he need, a symbol on his uniform. We all knew who he was when he sang his trade-mark "Here I come to save the day!!"

However, I thought that it would be neat if MM fans design one. Here's the deal: I'd like you, the MM fans, to design one. You can do it on your PC or simply draw one, scan it and E-mail it to me. You should also have, with your design, a picture/drawing of MM with your MM symbol on his uniform.

I shall post all the designs on the "MM symbol contest" link on my site. The winner will be chosen at the end of the year and will have his/her symbol on my MM site's front page, credited with the artist for all to see :)

I shall be accepting entrees until Dec. 31st, 2005. Please send images as jpeg files.

MM's Top Ten Cartoons:

MM fans: Here is your chance to let me know what MM cartoon you think is the best ever.

E-mail me and let me know which MM cartoon should make it on a top ten list. I'd like to know the title, series (Terrytoons, Filmation or Bakshi) and why you think that it should make the Top Ten.

I just thought that since this year, 2005, marks the 50th anniversary of the "Mighty Mouse Playhouse", and his first appearance on TV, that I'd let the fans celebrate this with a top ten list of their favorite MM cartoons. I shall post the top ten list by late December 2005.

MM sighting!!

To All MM fans:

If you know of any Mighty Mouse sightings, such as MM items, MM on tv, a MM movie or a new comic book series comming out, please E-mail me with the info. I need to know where to find these items (if they are collectables, new or otherwise) and if it is a cartoon series or dare I say movie, let me know when it is going to air and on what channel, or if it's a MM movie, when it's going to be released. I shall post this here, on the MM sighting section of my site.

However, I need SOLID information, NO RUMORS!!

Of course, if I find anything MM, you'll be sure to see it here :)

Mighty Mouse Theme Song is a BIG hit on the Big Screan and at home:

In the movie, "Man on the Moon", Jim Carrey portrays the late Andy Kaufman. One of the movie's highlights is Jim, as Andy, doing the famous Andy Kaufman Saturday Night Live skit, in which he lip synchs MM's theme song from the 50's (actually, just the Here I Come to Save the Day bit of it). The same theme song is available on the "Man on the Moon" soundtrack.

Lyrics to MM theme song

Check out the link below. Also, look for Mighty Mouse Popcorn in stores.

Mighty's song sings for ALEVE:

2002

Sorry to say that this MM fan has not seen it, but apparently the Mighty Mouse theme song was used at the end of a TV ad for ALEVE. Unlike the cheese ads of a year ago, he does not appear in the ad for ALEVE.

MM seen on more merchandise:

Over the past few months Mighty Mouse has appeared in a viriety of items from shirts, posters, patches, pins and stickers. These items can be found in stores such as:

Hot Topic, JC Pennys and Kohls.

Could this be a sign of a MM comback?? This fan hopes so :)

Mighty Mouse, the next to bobble:

2002

Mighty Mouse has been the latest cartoon to be used in the bobble head craze. Funko Inc. has made a "Mighty" cool looking figure of MM with the bobbling head. He is standing with his hands at his side with Mighty Mouse written on his stand.

I had hoped that someone would make one of these bobble head figures for MM since the bobble head craze came back a few years ago. It took long enough but here he is to nod his head, while saving the day :)

You can find this figure in stores such as Spencers Gifts, or any other specialty store starting on June 20th, 2002.

Check it out here :)

Mighty Mouse makes TV Guide

Top 50:

2002

In the August 3-9 issue of TV Guide, Mighty Mouse made the "50 Greatest Cartoon Characters of All Time" list. He placed #37.

This is a nice honor and all for MM, however he was behind Heckle and Jeckle (#25) and Tom Terrific (#32). These two Terrytoons were nice and all, but MM was and IS the most well known Terrytoon cartoon of all time. You'd think that he'd finish better than them on this list, but I guess that TV Guide did not think so.

Oh well, he'll always be #1 on my list :)

Mighty did finish higher than Superman, Batman, Wonder Woman, Alvin, Donald Duck, Porky Pig, Speed Racer and Tom and Jerry among others.

A MM Movie!!

This is the biggest news of the year for MM and his fans :) A Mighty Mouse movie is in the works!! It is a CGI film and Nickelodeon is said to be making it. Here's what I know:

From: Entertainment - Reuters

"Mighty Mouse Flies Again"

Friday, November 1, 2002

By: Dave McNary

"HOLLYWOOD (Variety) - Here he comes to save the day. Or at least make a film."

"Paramount Pictures has given a go to computer-animated version of "Mighty Mouse" for its Nickelodeon Films banner to produce. The project has been described as an action-comedy-adventure."

"We always loved the cartoon with a little guy who's a superhero." said Terence Chang, who will produce with his business partner, director John Woo. "It seemed like a cool concept. And we were big fans of Jimmy Neutron and Rugrats so it's a great opportunity to work with Nickelodeon."

"No directors or writers are attached. Chang said no decision has been made on using operatic style."

"Since rights to the original Terrytoons cartoon series that starred Mighty Mouse are owned by Viacom - parent of Paramount and Nick - the picture could be the start of a franchise. Nick's top animated performers have been: "The Rugrats Movie" and "Jimmy Neutron: Boy Genius", which posted domestic grosses of $101 million and $81 million, respectively."

So, it does seem that MM will finally get his movie :) I'd like to go on the record by saying that I have wrote, on this Web site, about wanting to see a MM movie done a few years back. I am VERY happy that one is in the works, even if I do not get any credit :)

I'd also like to thank Viacom for coming through. I know that we have not been on the same page when it comes to MM. But, as a MM fan, I just want what's best for MM. I always said that a movie is the way to go and I'm "Mighty" glad to hear that one is in the works.

Now, how about getting his cartoons on DVD?? Back on TV also :) I mean the star should be seen before his movie comes out :) Also, about the film's soundtrack: For the people involved in making this film, I think that we should talk :)

A New MM figure:

2003

Electric Tiki has made a "Mighty" cool MM figure:

The Mighty Mouse of Cars?

2004

During the first quarter of Super Bowl 38, a commercial for Chevy promoted a new car for 2004. Sorry, but I forgot the name of this car (shows that I was paying attention huh?) However, I am able to tell what happened in it:

An elephant runs accross the screen and is soon followed by a small red Chevy car. The car stops in front of the screen and the announcer says: (The name of the car), "the Mighty Mouse of cars", then the car backs up and out of view.

It was cute and all, but if I did it, I'd have Mighty Mouse himself get out of the car, walk up to the screen, hold up a security device, click the button (beep, beep) and walk away whistling his "Here I Come to Save the Day" as he goes. But, that's just me :)

'Course if I see this version come on TV in the future....you're welcome :)

MM Makes Animal Planet's Top 50

2004

On 5-8-04 Animal Planet did a special program on the Top 50 TV Animals as voted by them. Mighty Mouse made the list at #32. He beat out such cartoons as Felix the Cat and Tom and Jerry.

Start your Mighty

2005

You won't find this at any auto show or on the race track for that matter, but you can find it on your shelf or desk.

NASCAR and Jeff Gordon have issued a "Mighty" nice looking Mighty Mouse race car (mouse sized) that can be found and purchased on Jeff Gordon's Web site.

The money from this car goes to Jeff Gordon's foundation.

Here is a look at the car

Now, that's a real winner!!

Gee, thanks Visa

2005

Just a note:

During Super Bowl 39, Visa put out a commercial with a bunch of superheroes in it. Anyhow, at the end of the ad, an animal cartoon superhero made a cameo, but it was not Mighty Mouse. It was Underdog.

Come on Visa, the next time you make an ad with a cartoon superhero animal in it, step up to the plate and hit a home run and go for the best. Go with Mighty Mouse!!

Oh well, I guess that's why it pays to Discover!

Mighty Rocks!!

In 2003, the music group Tesla put out an album called "Into the Now". In this album is a song titled "Mighty Mouse" (track 8 on the cd).

It is a song about asking Mighty Mouse to come and save the day. It's a cool song with a good beat to it.

There is also a nice image of MM in the cd booklet with the lyrics to the song also on the page. The words are done in comic book style.

Here's a picture of the album:

If any of the members of Tesla happen to see this site, "Mighty" cool song guys :)

It's Time for Mighty Mouse

2005

In the Summer 2 catalog for Avon, there is a nice MM watch available. The watch should be out by late May.

The watch comes with a nice collector's tin and fun fact sheet.

Mighty Rides Again!

2006

Last year's version of the Jeff Gordon Foundation Mighty Mouse car was a hit. So, the Jeff Gordon Foundation and, fellow MM fan, NASCAR driver Jeff Gordon has issued a new model for 2006 (see image below). You can pre-order yours on the Net where Jeff Gordon and NASCAR items are found (I know I did :) )

Iowa is the "Mighty" Hawkeye State

2006

Okay, I found out about this "Mighty" interesting story from my girlfriend, who lives in Iowa.

In the early 1980's, athletic department officials of the University of Iowa decided to use "Herky the Hawk" as a marketing tool. They adopted a universal version of the mascot for all sports. Artist Charles Reed, the Iowa City native who drew the barrel-chested Herky with a raised fist, said his rendering is the result of two major influences: Hawkeye wrestling phenomenon Barry Davis and the cartoon figure Mighty Mouse.

Here is an image of Herky the Hawk

So, there you have it, I always said that Mighty Mouse goes well with sports and here's the proof :) Thanks to my girlfriend BC Davis for the info and Go Hawks!! :)

While surfing the Net, I ran accross the very first image of MM. This image was from a poster that was made just before his Super Mouse days (1942-1944). This poster featurs him, as Super Mouse, standing next to another Terry-Toons star of the time, Gandy Goose.

MM on sports star's arms

Mighty Mouse tattoos are big in sports and why not? After all, he is Mighty :)

His likeness has been tattooed on such sports stars arms as Damon Stoudamire of the Portland Trailblazers and Ricky Williams of the Miami Dolphins.

Some race car drivers also have MM painted on their race cars and sown on their jackets such as the late Alan Kulwicki.

If you know of more sports stars with an MM tattoo, please let me know and I'll add their name to the list :)

I think that Allen Iverson of the Philadelphia 76ers should add a MM tattoo to the list of ones that he already has. Allen is the smallest player in NBA history to win the leauge's MVP award. Way to go Allen!! :)

( MM fans, don't miss the other links to MM and non MM related links at the bottem of this page and to sign my MM gustbook if you'd wish :) )
