New Lunar Meteorite
NWA 482 is a Lunar Meteorite discovered in North West Africa in late 2000. It was acquired during
Mike Farmer and Jim Strope's meteorite recovery expedition to Morocco. The meteorite
was classified at UCLA and UA/Tucson as a Lunar Anorthositic Impact-melt Breccia.
It was an oriented fresh stone, covered with flow lines and has large glass veins and melt pockets.
The total weight of the stone was approximately 1,015 grams. This specimum is the 19.47 gram crusted nose cone.
