Connectivity and Transmission Solutions For Voice, Data, and Video From The CO to The Subscriber

Sponsored by ADC Telecommunications, Inc.

Course Description

This course is designed to investigate transmission techniques to deliver voice, data, and video to public switched subscribers, business, and within enterprise networks. The course will focus on the physical management of twisted pair, coax, and fiber optics in the CO and OSP environment, plus transmission techniques to deliver POTS, E-1, High speed data, LAN/WAN and Broadband video to the home, via a hybrid-fiber coax network. The course will consist of lecture, demonstrations, hands-on, and field-trips.

Participant Learning Objectives

Participants at the conclusion of this course will understand and be able to: (1) determine and design solutions for twisted pair, coax, and fiber optic cable management in the CO and OSP; (2) identify and apply solutions to deliver POTS, data, and video to subscribers; and (3) plan for present telecommunications needs and future applications.
