K2-140
Wireless Telecommunications System Planning Including Pair Gain and Line Concentrators
Sponsored by Telemobile, Inc.
Course Description
Technical managers will receive an in-depth understanding of the economics and technical planning requirements for Pair Gain, Line Concentrators and Wireless Systems to provide voice, fax and data services to remote areas using VHF and UHF radio in the 66-520 MHZ and 1.4-2.5 GHz frequency bands, combined with the latest switching technology to provide complete economical telecommunications coverage.
After providing the planning aspects of Wireless Telecommunications, Pair Gain and Line Concentration, participants will learn from hands-on experience about the installation and operation of the complete range of systems including concentrators with the latest V.5 interface specifications, wireless point-to-point and point-to-multipoint systems including mobile, and handheld telephone links in rural environments.
Full system planning is included for analog and digital wireless systems linked with remote satellite hubs and telephone switching networks. All wireless telephone systems are reviewed in depth to show participants how an entire remote rural area can have telephone service provided economically with flexibility to offer basic services and data telecommunications for business and personal activities in rural areas.
The course will include an in-depth review and comparison of the different Fixed Wireless Access (F.W.A.) systems and technology available for developing regions and rural areas.
Systems planning includes Wireless Local Loop (WLL) and Wireless Rural Loop (WRL) technical and economical considerations, as well as wireless PABX systems, and extension of remote satellite earth stations to extend the radius of coverage from 50 to 80 km from the satellite terminals.
Participant Learning Objectives
To understand how to specify and design a wireless telecommunication network, utilizing the flexible radio solution for economical, digital and analog service with satellite or microwave backbone links. Participants will be able to address the growing need for additional lines (circuits) and extra capacity available with concentrator and pair gain systems and provide wide area, wireless telecommunication network services, as well as meet rural, local community telephone needs. Participants will learn about installation and servicing of wireless telephone systems and should have technical background and experience or education.
