Noise Measurements and Mitigation (Noise-MM)

Sponsored by Telecordia Technologies, Inc.

Course Description

Noise-MM lays out comprehensive methods for measuring, analyzing, and mitigating the effects of noise interference on telecommunication services. Primarily a technical course, it emphasizes the principles of noise investigation and mitigation. The course builds an understanding of the power system elements which contribute to harmonic interference problems. Measurement techniques using state-of-the-art equipment and hands-on laboratory exercises reinforce key points.

Participant Learning Objectives

The participants at the conclusion of this course should understand and be able to: (1) plan an effective inductive interference investigation using a wide variety of test sets and mitigation equipment; and (2) resolve most inductive interference problems
