Cable Pressurization Management and Maintenance

Sponsored by System Studies International

Course Description

This course begins with an explanation of the basics of cable pressurization and the anatomy of a pressurized cable system. A generalized air pressure system is diagramed, and each system component and its function is described. Various pressure and flow monitoring devices are then presented with detailed operating instructions. All major leak locating tools and maintenance methods are discussed. Flow analysis (used to limit the area of search for leak locating) is emphasized throughout the course. The MAP section of the class will cover the retrieval and analysis of actual data and reports, task dispatching and how to fully utilize the various software programs.

Participant Learning Objectives

To provide a firm foundation in the principles and techniques required to maintain and repair a cable pressurization system and to discuss how maintenance and repair functions integrate with PressureMap™ software.
