The U.S. Exporters swept the Santa Fe Shockers
and finished the Spring 1999 season in a tie
with Sports Pub/Finlay for second place in the
division.

After the game the U.S. Exporters retired to
libations at our favorite adult beverage
provider.

It was at this time that it was announced that
Roger Morse had been selected as the newest
member of the U.S. Exporters Hall of Fame. (See
the tribute to Roger under his Individual
Batting Statistics section.)

John Thompson was selected as the team's Most
Valuable Player as a result of his tremendous
season at the plate and in the field. John's
leadoff hitting, his overall heads-up defensive
play at shortstop, his leadership on the bench,
and his enthusiasm for the game on and off
the field contributed to what I believe was his
best all-around season ever. Congratulations
to our Bulldog, John Thompson!

Pat Drury is becoming a softball icon, and he
has made a big impression on his U.S. Exporters
teammates on both the Tuesday and Masters teams.
In only two full seasons with our team, Pat
has run away with the Rookie of the Year, and
now he has the prestigious Best Glove Award! Pat
not only won the team's Pitching Triple Crown, but
he also won the team's batting title! The future
looks especially bright for Pat (unless,
of course, he asks for more $$$).

Tom Lindamood was our team's first successful
"cyberspace recruit." Early this year Tom
found our web site and sent me an e-mail asking
if he could join us for pre-season practice.
When he arrived at our first practice in the
winter, I initially mistook him for another
fellow who Dennis Davis had been recruiting. Well,
it only took me a week to get things figured out,
and Tom went on to make a solid and important
contribution to the team all season long.
Welcome aboard, Rookie! May there be many more
seasons ahead for you on the U.S. Exporters!

I am delighted to report that Ed Frank performed
a splendid rendition of the song 'All By Myself'
to the enthusiastic karaoke crowd at the Foxhole.
Ed's stylish crooning caused the crowd to sway in
a melodic rapture. Roger Morse acted as the team's
designated photographer, and the karaoke managers
recorded Ed's masterpiece on tape. With the
assistance of Kevin Gary, I will hope to have the
*live performace* available on this web site
in the very near future.
