1) U.S. Exporters vs Big Sticks played on 08/22/16
With a depleted lineup for the opener, the lack of offense showed. In
the first game we only managed 4 runs as we hit a lot of fly balls right at them.
In the second game, we scored early and then could not
continue to put runs on the board to put them away. The Big Sticks
scored 5 runs in the bottom of the 5th to tie the game. Neither team was
able to score in the 6th causing the game to end in a tie.
With a team heavily depleted with injury, the Exporters managed a
Kessler split with the Maddogs. Some solid defense in the field kept
the scores low in both games. We had solid infield play. They had some
fast outfielders that turned deep flies in the gaps into long outs.
However, we managed to get just enough runs in the opener to hold on and
win. We opened the second game strong, but had a bad inning in the
third that allowed in 11 runs. We worked our way back to tie the game
in the last inning, but could not get the winning run across before the
final out. With a team heavily depleted with injury, the Exporters managed a

3) U.S. Exporters vs Dukes played on 09/26/2016
The Exporters dropped a pair of games to the Dukes with both teams
playing with 9 men. They exploited the gaps better than we did.
Defensive lapses that gave them extra outs coupled with a lack of
effective hitting showed the Exporters can't win without their A game.
The Exporters avoided being shut out in the opener by finally getting a run home in the 5th inning and at least made the game close. However, a lack of hitting hurt greatly. In game 2 the team opened strong, but couldn't continue to put runs on the board consistently later in the game. Late defensive lapses led to big innings for the Big Sticks who pulled ahead and won.
The Exporters played shorthanded again and the 9 on the field included
injured players. Dan still has elbow problems and had to bat from the
left side. In the second game, Brian pulled a leg muscle forcing Roger
to make his season debut in right field after starting at third base.
Brian moved to third to limit his need to run. On the positive side,
the team saw the return of Nick who played a solid and busy center
field. Jason stepped up to play shortstop and made some excellent plays
on several popups and short flies to the outfield. The Maddogs kept the
Exporters in check in the opener with excellent defensive plays by their
second baseman and right-center fielder. Offense finally returned to
the Exporters bats late in the first game and into the second. Homers
were hit by Joe, Patrick and Brian hit two. Nick went 5 for six with a
pair of doubles, a walk and sac fly. Roger got a couple of gappers for
a pair of triples and ended the second game with a walk off sac fly to
score Nick with time expired.
6) U.S. Exporters vs Fighting Penguins played on 10/17/16
It's amazing! It's incredible! Miraculously, we have 11 confirmed hours
before the games. All will be needed with the possibility of some of
the players who have injuries becoming unplayable during the evening.
As always, let me know ASAP if your status changes.
No games tonight. We only have 4 guys from the team confirmed and
that's counting Dan who is still injured. We could only dig up 2 others
and even if we found more we don't have enough legal jerseys to field a
team. Thus, we have had to forfeit.
8) U.S. Exporters vs St. Arnolds played on 10/31/16
Men - This week St. Arnolds had to forfeit. Stay home.
Jason Boyd reports: Guys we only had 5 guys as of 3 PM so we had to forfeit. Hasn't been a banner season for participation.
