The Physician

 
 I have seen such pain before,
 and I have watched it breed,
 and I have knelt to reimplore
 the Lord to intercede.

 But there is a hellish cruelty 
 that life cannot withstand.
 I am cursed by the mortality
 I am powerless to command.
