No Hurry Anymore

 I'm in no hurry, Lord.
I'm in no hurry anymore. Someone just shot my dog.

As he lay there dying my eyes slashed through tears
searching for where the shots had come.
Squirming and bleeding and dying there,
my dog just wasn't living anymore.

A man in the brush with a gun at his side
pushed his way to where I was kneeling.
He asked me boy is that your dog
and I said no sir he was my friend.

All I could do was sit there crying
and thinking how cruel we all must be.
Then I didn't want to think anymore.
I didn't want to cry anymore.
I just wanted to bury my dog somewhere.

 I'm in no hurry, Lord.
I'm in no hurry anymore. Someone just shot my dog.
