It breaks my heart to say goodbye to one of the truly
fine gentlemen on the U.S. Exporters softball team.

Sadly, Dr. Kevin Gary sent the following statement to
the team on June 1, 2000:

"Hey Guys,

I didn't want to let the team know this over email, but
since we haven't been out to have beers recently, I have
to let the cat out of the bag. I've accepted a job back
in Arizona and will be moving back there at the end of
the month. June 13th figures to be my last game if the
current schedule holds.

Cathleen and I are having a farewell happy hour this
Friday at 6:30pm at the Crystal City Sports Pub (not
the Restaurant JD), right up the block from the Foxhole.
If you can make it please stop by.

Kevin"

We wish Kevin and Cathleen nothing but the best of luck
in their new endeavors in Arizona. Kevin was sorely
missed for several years while he left us for college,
and now he will be sorely missed again.

The fact that he returned to this team after all those
years tells us something about the kind of friendships
we make here. They last, and they mean a lot.

All U.S. Exporters are encouraged to visit the Sports
Pub on Friday June 2 for this special event. I hope to
see you there.--Jay

WARNING!

When you arrive at the Crystal City Sports Pub
(aka: "McBar"), DO NOT SPIT ON THE FLOOR. Also, do not
throw chairs, patrons,~~or each other~~, through the bar's
plate glass windows. Do not bench press the pool tables.
Do not dig your nose with the silverware, or attempt to
grind the beer mugs or beer bottles with your teeth (this
means YOU, J.D. Daunt!).

You see, men, in certain venues this type of behavior
(although perfectly normal by CCSP standards) is considered
rude and unbecoming...

Remember, we will play the Crystal City Sports Pub/Finlay
softball team again someday, so we want to be as polite
to them as technically possible...

Perhaps one day they may wish to visit a REAL BAR
(aka: "Foxhole"). If so, we must try to set a properly
refined and sophisticated example for them to follow.

Besides, nobody goes to the Crystal City Sports Pub
anymore. Its too crowded.

Word.-Jay
