U.S. EXPORTERS GO TO THE DAWGS

----------
Todd Pace
Wins Fall 2007 Team Batting Title
----------
Roger Morse reporting:

We dropped two to the Dawgs in the last games of the fall season. Kelvin Foreman pitched both games and only gave up one walk.

The bats were silent for much of the first game. We only scored in the last two innings. We had a good second game and the teams fought back and forth. They put us in a big hole going into the last inning, but we fought back to tie the game. We just couldn't hold on in the bottom half with their first three batters all getting hits to score the game winning run.

Recruitment during the off-season begins TODAY!

Jay Hatfield reporting:

Pat Drury Comes For A Visit

I am happy to report that team Hall of Famer Pat Drury dropped by the game on Tuesday night to say hello. Pat said that he still follows the web page and had read about the game. He wanted to come by and wish the new team well and say hello to some old buddies. Pat looks great, and it was wonderful to see him again. He and I exchanged a few notes on growing older, and I also had a chance to introduce my son Matthew to this softball legend. Wish we could get you back out on the field, Pat, but heck, enjoy the retirement! I know I am!

Todd Pace Says Goodbye

The fall 2007 team batting title was won by Todd Pace, who went four-for-four and three-for-four in the double header. This is especially poignant because earlier in the week Todd announced to the team that he has been assigned to duty in Bahrain for the next two years and will be forced to leave the club after this season.

On behalf of the team I want to say thank you for joining us, Todd, and thank you for being such a big part in the success of our team. The fact that you joined us in 2006 when we needed all the help we could get is testimony to your importance to this little squad, and I am proud and delighted that you were able to join the list of team batting title winners. You will be missed.

U.S. EXPORTERS ANNOUNCE FALL 2007 AWARD WINNERS!

----------
Jeremy Lewis
Fall 2007 Team MVP
----------
Glen Maes
Fall 2007 Best Glove
----------
Congratulations to the team award winners!

  • Jeremy Lewis - Fall 2007 Team MVP

Jeremy attended every game, played every inning, led the team in at bats, runs, doubles, RBI (for the second straight season), and he was second on the team in total base hits. Jeremy’s dependability added some needed stability to a rebuilding team going through an especially tough season.

  • Glen Maes - Fall 2007 Best Glove Award

Glen Maes stood out on the mound and took some of the toughest poundings any pitcher has had to face on this team, but he kept his cool and persevered with dignity and pride. His fall season strikeout totals were the highest the team has seen since the Fall 2004 championship season. Anyone who could stand the battering that Glen did during this rebuilding season deserves the kind of honor that the team’s Best Glove award represents.

Again, congratulations to Jeremy and Glen! Spring Training is only a few months away!
