U.S. Exporters: Spring 2004 Playoff Tournament Champions"A Thirst For Victory"

"Saturday was without a doubt one of the greatest days in Exporters history, which really is saying something. Everything just came together - the hot hitting was contagious, Pat's pitching was awesome, the defensive effort was solid, and the mood in the dugout was fun, loose and upbeat all day long." "It was a thrill to win the tournament. Ed's season-ending spike was the best celebratory moment since Roger's famous celebrated double." "That was the most fun that I have ever had playing softball. (I play a ton of softball, so this is not a small feat.) The guys showed just how important it is to play as a team. No one was out for individual goals, everyone was out for one goal, to win the tournament. I could not be more proud of this bunch of guys. If you were to look at the teams and their momentum coming into the tournament there is no way you would say that the Exporters would get through the first few rounds let alone win the whole damn thing. We were against some VERY tough competition and we came out and put a hurting on each and every one of them. Congratulations guys, I cannot wait to carry this momentum into the Fall season." "Congratulations! I was going to come watch, but am now glad I didn't since I probably would have jinxed them." "Too bad that Quarterdeck was too busy attending their weekly Alcoholics Anonymous meeting (or was it their monthly Anger Management class?) to attend the Saturday games." "I will be out of the office July 26th through July 30th. If you need to speak to somebody immediately please dial 202-225-xxxx. Thanks!."
