Third Wave Solutions, Inc., founded in 1987, is headquartered in Columbia, Maryland. Third Wave Solutions represents manufacturers of active and passive components in Maryland, Virginia, The District of Columbia, and parts of West Virginia. We use state of the art technology to support original equipment manufacturers directly and through our local distributor network.

We derived the name Third Wave Solutions from one of the works of Alvin Toffler, a best selling author of contemporary change literature. In the book, The Third Wave, Toffler depicted the First Wave as the agricultural revolution, the Second Wave as the industrial revolution and the Third Wave as the electronic data, communication revolution. He depicted a society that would be working in 'electronic hamlets' sending their daily work over 'electronic highways' to 'virtual places of business'. In keeping with the spirit of his writings, the name Third Wave Solutions was selected in 1987.
