Dubya Spike
NEW! Here is Dubya when wishful thinking catches up to reality. Art by Denny Williams. Here is Spike Zywicki, formerly of Tabor House at 1809 Monroe St., holding a picture of himself taken 22 years previously. He still looked the same, though we lost him in 2003. Click on the photo to see a bigger version.
¡Spike! ¡Presente!
Bobbie at 60 Mary and Norman
Bobbie at her birthday party in 2003. No one can believe she's as old as she says. So she must be unbelievably old! Mary Meehan and her friend Norman at Bobbie's party.
Shut off aid to Sharon!
Two of the many protesters against U.S. support to Sharon's government.

Halloween 2002 Jack-o-Lanterns 2004 Jack-o-Lanterns
Halloween 2002. Bobbie is the good witch of Monroe Street. John is ... well, uh. We are joined by Joy and Levi Jones. Photo by Dean Jones. NEW! Alex's (upper right) and John's (the rest) Jack-O-Lanterns for Halloween 2004. Simon's (left) and John's (center and right) Jack-O-Lanterns for 2003.
Jacks Jacks
Gretchen's (left) and John's (center and right) Jack-O-Lanterns from Halloween 2002. Ben Rempell's (left) and Frank Stein's (right) entries for Halloween 2001. Notice the bolts and the stitching. Attention to detail.

On All Hallows Eve, our end of Monroe Street is very aggressive. We don't wait for spooks and goblins to come to us, but if the weather's good, we're out there on the porches or the sidewalks, with the pumpkins and goodies. And John is out in the Pohlmans' front yard with his Celestron C5+ telescope aimed at Jupiter or Saturn.

What is the most common comment when adults look at Saturn?
Jacks John viewing the Sun Andres
Bianca's (left) and John's (right) Jack-O-Lanterns from Halloween 2000. John brought out the Celestron to view sunspots at the Monroe Street block party, too. Andres Thomas Conteres, who is a lot more handsome than those other fellows above.
