Each year we sponsor a fundraiser, usually an auction of baked goods.
This year, with the $450 matching funds from the Lutheran Brotherhood,
we raised over $1800 for the Capital Area Foodbank.

We're always fighting the same old battles.

The assembly line putting together plates of food in the kitchen at St. Stephen's. |
This is a typical Saturday at St. Stephen and the Incarnation Church at 16th and Newton, NW.
The Community has been preparing and serving meals to the poor and elderly there
for over 30 years.
We now cook the first Saturday of each month.
Though we always buy the food and cook it, volunteers often help serve.
In the plate assembly line are volunteers from Metropolitan Baptist in D.C. and
First Presbyterian in Henderson, NC. Other volunteer groups include D.C. Cares.
