Feeding Programs

The Community of Christ participates in feeding programs at St. Stephen and the Incarnation Church, at 16th and Newton Streets, NW, and at the Bethany Women's drop-in center at N Street Village, at 14th and N Streets, NW.

Hunger Advocacy

In addition to directly relieving hunger, many members are interested in advocacy. Bob Pohlman notes that this should enhance our sense of mission around the feeding program, and even with a limited commitment of time, we could educate ourselves and add our support to the advocacy being carried out by others - e.g. SOME, Bread for the City, etc.

Bob will be checking with various advocates in the city to see who might be able to brief us on what is going on with hunger and feeding programs run by the city and by nonprofits.

The hunger advocates are: Dora Johnson, Emily Holman, Doug Huron, Haley Lindeman, Chris Nichols, Bob Pohlman, Bobbie Stewart, Gail Taylor, Amy Wind.
