  This is the download page for "Report It!". It is a text based form letter.
  You need a text editor to use it.
  

• Down Load
  Report It! Read On-Line - If you want a copy, just "Save Source" this page.
  This page and these files are ShareWare.
  
  

• How to use it.
  Almost everything I know about "reporting spam" is in the form and on my No Spam page. You need to "copy & paist" the different e-mail addresses into the section labled "CC:".
  
  

• How to start.
  
  • Make a "working copy" of the of the "Report It" form.
    
  • Set your browser mail window to full headers.
    
  • Copy the full text of the spam(including headers).
    
  • Paist this at the end of the "Report It" form copy.
    
  • Go to the headers part you just paisted and neaten up the text, following the example form at this link.
    
  • Do a "Text Copy" of the part you just made neat.
    
  • Goto this web site Nail'em! and paist that text into the window at the bottom of the page.
    
  • On that page, do this next.
    
    Press these check boxes:
    
    • Debug mode
      
    • Send clipped message
      
    • Generate Complaint (Submit Buttom)
      
  • After a minute or less, you will see a "spam trace" page.
    
  • When this page completes, look for: To: abuse@___.com, abuse@___.com, etc....
    
  • Paist this line on the CC: line of the "Report It" form copy and then save it.
    
    If for some reason this fails to work, use the lines on the "Report It" form labled:
    postmaster@x, webmaster@x, abuse@x,
    and paist every domain name in the spam (header & body) in place of the (x) following the @ symbol. (One domain per line.)
    Examples for: (9i.com) & (Spam.net)
    postmaster@9i.com, webmaster@9i.com, abuse@9i.com,
    postmaster@Spam.net, webmaster@Spam.net, abuse@Spam.net,
    Paist these in the "CC:" field.
  • Go back to the original spam mail in your browser and press "Forward".
    
  • Paist the finished "Report Form" text from the top line down to and including the last CC: abuse address...into the message area.
    
  • Go to the bottom of the message area and
    
    • Copy the "MailTo:" addresses and paist them in the "MailTo:" field of your browser.
      
    • Copy the "CC:" addresses and paist them in the "CC:" field of your browser.
      
  • Then delete all lines below "== Spam Follows ====" line
    in the browser mail window.
    
  • "Press Send"
