These obscure Apple OS errors have technical definitions that (on occassion) boggle the mind. An error or Type -199 is "Map Inconsistent with Operation" error, whatever the heck that means. It's rarely encountered, but if you trash the preferences file associated with the program that caused it, that has been known to do the trick. If it doesn't, the official word from Apple Computer, Inc. is to perform a clean re-install of the system software. Which we will not help a customer with. Period. They can either chance it themselves (ick), or call 1-800-SOS-APPL and have Apple Tech Support help them with it (recommended).
