Ct by Hugh Parks and Thomas Barnett. I will that my land be
divided between my two sons James and Robert; the line of di-
vision is to begin at the branch adj Hugh Parker on Jas. McKnight's
line thence up sd branch to its head and due north to the Mill Road,
thence west along sd road to a point 20 poles into an old field, and
thence north to the west corner of John Cathheart's fence at a pond.
James is to have the western portion or the part I now live on with
the following encumbrances: my daus Jane, Margaret, Agness,
and Susannah are to have peaceable possession of my dwelling
house and their maintenance as long as they remain single. I also
leave to James a bed and furniture, a horse, my rifle gun, and my
wagon which is to be kept on my farm but my son Robert may use it
when needed. I give to my son Robert the eastern portion where he
now lives on condition that he pay $12.50 to each of my four daus.
I will to each of my four daus a bed and furniture. I will to
my son-in-law Joseph Nicholson and wf Catherine $2; to James
Craig and wf Mary $2; to William Kerr and wf Anna $2; and to
my grandson Robert M. Kerr a mare.
It is my will that as long as my family stays together my
farming utensils and household and kitchen furniture are be kept for
use on my farm, as well as two horses and my livestock. Should any
child leave home they are to receive their share of my property at
that time. I give my house Bible to my son James, and my two sons
are to divide my body clothes and to have my part of [interest in?]
Flauverel & Burket. I will a third part of my meadow ground to my
son Robert. I appoint James McKnight and James Spratt as
guardians of [my minor children?]. Exrs: Sons James and Robert
