Division 2, "the Potomac Division," promotes boating safety in our nation's capital. The DC metro area is home to many parks, marinas and recreation spots along the Potomac and Anacostia Rivers.
The Coast Guard Auxiliary (CGAUX) provides numerous training and fellowship opportunities. Auxiliarists volunteer thousands of hours each year to assisting boaters on the water, teaching boating classes, providing boat owners with free safety examination for their boats, and supporting authorized USCG missions. You may apply for membership in the CGAUX if you are a United States citizen, 16 years of age or older. For more specific information about the requirements for joining the CGAUX, please visit the United States Coast Guard Auxiliary National Page.
Division 2 is made up of five flotillas. All Auxiliarists belong to a flotilla, which is the basic unit of the organization. Our flotillas meet in Washington, DC (2 flotillas); Leesburg, VA; Greenbelt, MD; and Ft. Washington, MD.
The following is a listing of Division 2 flotillas and meeting locations. All meetings are held in the evening. Prospective members are welcome at flotilla meetings. If you are interested in visiting a flotilla, please contact Anne Pastorkovich, CGAUX, Webmaster (send an e-mail) first. The Flotilla Commander may have to notify you of special instructions/photo ID requirements. Your e-mail will be forwarded to the appropriate Flotilla Commander, who will contact you with more information about his/her flotilla and flotilla meetings.
Division 2 flotillas offer public education courses including Boating Skills & Seamanship, Sailing & Seamanship, and Advanced Coastal Navigation. (Coming Soon: Class Listings!)
