QUICKEST ENDING TO DEADPOOL
The 2000 Deadpool comes to an end with the victory of Mike Connors who successfully picked ex-Dallas Cowboy coach, Tom Landry.  Landry died Saturday, February 12, at age 75, after a 9 month battle with leukemia.

Mike won by the "rim" of Landry's hat b/c in the night after Landry's passing, cartoonist Charles Schulz entered an endless state of retirement (yes, pun intended).  Due to the rules that were set on the D-Pool day, Greenwich time is used as the time of death, therefore, Mike wins by six feet (under).  Let us all bow our heads in memory of Charlie Brown, Snoopy, and the gang.  (sigh)

Flu-Stricken Kennedy Faces Few Days in Hospital
WASHINGTON (Reuters) - Sen. Edward Kennedy, suffering from a bad case of a flu-like illness, is likely to spend a few more days in a Washington hospital, his doctor and family said on Monday.   The Massachusetts Democrat, who turns 68 this month, entered Sibley Memorial Hospital on Sunday with a cough, fever and chills.

``Ted is well on his way to a speedy recovery,'' his wife Victoria said in a statement. ``But he is still running a temperature and his doctors and I have convinced him that another few days of rest is the best treatment.''

His doctor Mark Abbruzzeses said in a statement that Kennedy had symptoms typical in a viral illness and was ``responding nicely'' to treatment. ``I expect him to remain in the hospital for continued observation and treatment for the next few days.''
