More snapshots from our musical travels.

34k X the greatest punk band (better even than Green Day) dropped by the WFUV studios on their current UNCLOGGED (unplugged) tour. Catch 'em if you can. The John Doe Thing is pretty good too. That's WFUV's Rita Houston captured with the band after an on-air interview and performance. (Hmmmm, which one is Rita and which one is Exene?)

42k It's a lamp too! That's The King with a couple of The Nields, (vocalist Katryna and bassist Dave Chalfant) taking a motel break at the Falcon Ridge Folk Festival. The Nields are superfun people as well as a great new band! Gotta see 'em to believe 'em! Elvis can now be seen in Rita's living room.

53k WFUV's Rita Houston was acting like Linda McCartney when she snapped this one between MC duties at the Falcon Ridge Folk Festival. By nightfall nearly 7,000 people had gathered on the hill for music from Ani Difranco, John Gorka, Pete and Maura Kennedy, Greg Greenway and others.

39k Destiny is a strange thing...Here's Pete and Maura Kennedy with Susan Cowsill and Peter Holsapple. The Kennedy's love all things retro and Susan Cowsill (and spaghetti) is an icon. This photo was snapped backstage following the Continental Drifters show in Central Park. The Drifters include Cowsill, Holsapple, and former Bangle Vicki Peterson. Check out their album for a great cover of "Soul Deep". A fine band! And, you know how we feel about the Kennedys.

41k Just after the release of her debut The Honesty Room, Dar Williams visited WFUV to chat about her brand new album and sing a few songs. We were all knocked out when hearing "When I Was a Boy" for the first time live. That's former Music Director Liz Opoka on the left of Dar and current Music Director Rita Houston on the right.

81k No Martinis and no Bikinis--we were working! Sam Phillips, with husband/producer T-Bone Burnett and percussionist Josh wowed us all with a stunning acoustic performance on Cityfolk. Captured here with WFUVer's (l-r) Ben Soper, Sam, T-Bone, Rita Houston in Sam's shades, Josh, Liz Opoka and Darren DeVivo up front.

32k That's Iris Dement with WFUV's Rita Houston in the main on-air studio. Just like Merle Haggard we can't wait for the new Iris album.
