- Programming Windows <version>, Charles Petzold. The bible on the Windows API.
- Programming Windows with MFC, 2ed., Jeff Prosise. The best book IMHO for learning MFC.
- Advanced Windows, Jeffrey Richter. Includes chapters on kernel objects,
processes, threads, Win32 memory architecture, virtual memory, memory-mapped files,
heaps, thread synchronization, windows messages and asynchronous input, DLLs,
thread-local storage, file systems, device i/o, structured exception handling,
unicode, breaking through process boundaries, and fibers (lightweight threads).
