Objective:
The job I seek is one that will combined my classroom skills and my technology skills to provide instruction to student.
Experience:
- Southside Elementary School. Dinwiddie Virginia 1999-2002. For the past three years, I have been the technology instructor in a computer lab of a primary school. Special education students were a special concern.
- Famous Americans on Universal Class. I am teaching an online course for home schoolers based on the Famous Americans developed on Mrs. P's Links. The course is available at http://home.universalclass.com/i/socialsciences/amerstudies/classes/3003.htm
- Nottoway High School. For 13 years, I taught both self-contained and resource students in special education for learning disabilities and mental disabilities. While there, I began to develop the use of the Internet to enhance instruction in reading and writing. During my years at Nottoway, I served as department head, participated in school assessments, mentored new teachers, and trained teachers in the use of technology. I also sponsored the school newspaper.

- Book Chapter: 1995. Hampton Press "Computer-Mediated Communications and the Online Classroom. Chapter 5: CMC and the Educationally Disadvanted Student." This chapter describes the online experiences of Nottoway special education students during 1992-93. Co-authored with Robert Zenhausern, St. John's University.

Education:
My education has been a life-long enterprise. I recently earned a Graduate Certificate in Online Teaching and Learning.from California State University at Hayward. My Degree is from Virginia Commonwealth University - a BS in Special Education. My post gradeuate courses have been in special education and technology.
Certification:
- Graduate Professional Teaching Certificate for the Commonwealth of Virginia since 1982. I am endorsed in Special Educaton for Learning Disabilities and Mental Handicaps.
